Hyaluronic acid b5 serum for multi-depth osmotic hydration.
Four molecular weights of sodium hyaluronate combined with 2% d-panthenol to deliver hydration across the stratum corneum without surface stickiness or reverse osmotic moisture draw.

Why single-weight hyaluronic serums fail to hydrate deep tissue.
Most commercial hyaluronic acid serums utilize only high molecular weight polymers (above 1.5 million Daltons). While large polymers create a comforting temporary film over the stratum corneum, their physical molecule size prevents penetration beyond the outermost dead horn cells. Worse, in dry climate zones like heated Pacific Northwest homes during winter, unsealed high-molecular hyaluronic acid draws water backward out of the living dermis, exacerbating dehydration lines.
Our formulation distributes four distinct molecular tiers: low-molecular fragments (10kDa and 50kDa) penetrate deep intercellular channels to support natural glycosaminoglycan synthesis; medium fragments (800kDa) hydrate intermediate desmosomes; and cross-linked macro-polymers (1.8MDa) lock ambient moisture to the surface. Paired with 2.0% provitamin B5 (d-panthenol), this serum reduces trans-epidermal water loss while encouraging keratinocyte re-epithelialization.
Formulation Architecture & Mechanism
- 10kDa Oligo-Hyaluronan Ultra-low molecular weight polymer capable of reaching deeper epidermal strata to encourage intrinsic water reservoir maintenance without triggering inflammation.
- 50kDa Sodium Hyaluronate Intercellular cushion hydrator that improves tissue elasticity and fills volume deficits caused by acute dehydration.
- 800kDa Medium Polymer Provides sustained moisture reservoir within mid-level desmosome junctions.
- 1.8MDa Macromolecular Film Forms an elastic, non-occlusive breathable shield that traps environmental moisture on the skin surface.
- 2.0% Provitamin B5 D-panthenol penetrates cellular membranes to convert into pantothenic acid, an essential component of Coenzyme A needed for lipid biosynthesis and tissue repair.
Sequential Application Protocol
Apply 3 to 4 drops directly onto damp skin. Never apply hyaluronic acid to a completely dry face. The humectant requires moisture to bind immediately upon contact.
Press gently with palms across the forehead, cheeks, and neck until the viscous droplet breaks into a light water texture. Do not rub aggressively.
Immediately follow with a lipid barrier cream (such as our Ceramide Complex 3:1:1 Cream). Without an occlusive lipid layer, the bound water will evaporate into dry ambient air.
Honest Tradeoffs & Exclusions
This serum does not contain synthetic fragrances, denatured alcohol, essential oils, or carbomer thickeners. Because it is unfragranced, you will notice only the faint, neutral smell of purified panthenol.
Who this is not for: If you reside in an environment with less than 15% ambient humidity and refuse to apply a lipid cream over this serum, you will experience surface tightness. Hyaluronic acid is an osmotic humectant, not an occlusive barrier; it must always be sealed with lipids.
